Sorry if I am posting on wrong thread. I am in the process of sending my documents for EAD renewal and had few questions
Do we need to include a cover letter ?
Also I am sending the following documents.
1) copy I-485 receipt notice
2) copy of EAD (front and back)
3) two color photos
4) Filing fee check $340
5) Mailer stub received from previous EAD.
Am I missing anything else?
A cover letter even though not required, is always a good idea. Do mention in bold that you want the new EAD to start from mm/dd/yy which is when your current one expires, otherwise it could start from the approval date and you could lose 2-3 months. I'd keep the cover letter short, just 2-3 lines plus doc list.

All we are asking is to support some kind of action against the USCIS...
we just need to mobilize ourselves... this is not a fight for EB-2 or EB-3... but for the whole legal immigration system... let's just do something
we are looking at specific situations where the legal immigrant community was affected... and right now its the non sequential processing of the applications for EB-2...
for EB-3 we will need to make similar points which we can raise with Ombudsman or some other authority... we just need to find instances where people were affected... for example delays in EAD.. and that is for EB-2 and EB-3

If we just keep watching the visa bulletin every month, there would be no change. We will see November 2001 in next couple of months after that it will become "U" again. We got to do something and we need guidance and direction from IV.

Been in the US since 1998, have an EB-2 PD of 2001, have played by the rules all along. Still no GC... And, the dates are going back to 2000 from the new year.. I've lost hopes...
I'm pretty close to getting clinical depression because of this game played by USCIS, Labor Dept, FBI and my own bad luck.
SKILL bill, OMNIBUS, etc. comes and goes. IV does seem to be doing things to lobby for the community, but let's face one reality. Like a news article said, no one in congress or senate wants to touch immigration even with a long pole until 2009.
The US has been very good to me (other than the GC part), more than my home country (India) which is why I'm still here.
Have invested too much of time in this country to just pack up and go. Just curious if any of you feel this way? How do you handle such depressing feelings?

Today my attorney received all 6 receipts.
Case filed (485): NE (140 approved from TSC)
Filed date: Jul 25, Received jul 26
LUD on approved 140 - aug 5 & aug 12
Receipt date Sept 17th for 485, 131, 765
Online status: EAD -card production ordered on Sept 24th.
Good luck to everyone. Looks like TSC is moving.

I have read many bills in last year and a half. There are a bunch of such bills pending..The problem is that they just stay pending...Unless that gets placed on the senate calender introducing the bill is useless...

If Reps win CIR might not pass at all. Since border Fence bill is passed now it shows Reps want a border security only bill. Remember Senate was opposing to a border security bill First? What happened now. America raised voice about it. And congress reacted by passing it.
If Dems win we stand a chance that CIR would be debated. Few legals provisions would squeezed into this CIR bill(which is maily for undocumented and ag worker). However its important that Dems take control of both senate and house.
Ont he flip side if Reps will, atleast there is a possiblity that SKIL bill might pass. that would help us.

Well she suggested that she had scheduled the FP appointment and said that I should be getting my FP notices in 30 days.
I am hoping that its the truth !!
If your case is in TSC then it means that they have submitted the request to schedule you. That does not mean that they have scheduled you.
But for any other center, it maybe true that they scheduled the FP for you because I have read the previous posts of people getting it within 30 days for other centers.

I filed my I-129 for H1B extension in March, 2008. It is almost 5 months. I haven't got my H1B extension approval yet.
Do any of you experience delay in H1B extension? Is it normal waiting time after July 2007 fiasco?
I am also wondering why Vermont is delaying the processing of H1B though it is not processing I-485s?
Please share your experiences.

I do not understand why people spend their energy in coming up with some lame ideas. Just because you suffer does not mean that your fellows have to suffer, what is the point of being a sane individual with that kind of thought process.
There are people who come here on all kinds of visas F1, H1, L1 and like this country and stay back and need a green card for convenience. Students who came here want priority over people who came on H1B. It makes sense from their point of view.
Similarly people on H1B who got stuck in several stages and had to change the company have their own point of view.
How bout having a lame rule saying that GC for people with I.Q of 140 and above?

How bout having a lame rule like if you have a family you will be penalized by putting you at the end of the line for GC?
The list can go endless..
Worry less about who is cutting the line and getting ahead and please concentrate and put your energy and come up with good ideas and showing what we are really capable of..
