Sorry to hear about your diagnosis and our prayers are with you and your family.
But as suggested by IV members, please do consider a visit to india and take second opinion from the Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, its one of the best cancer treament centre in the world.
US Healthcare system is for Profit, some medical facilities in US are exception, but if you see the overall Healthcare system it sucks and its all driven by insurance and big Pharmaceutical companies.
Please send me the private e-mail if you need any help in Mumbai to reach good doctor in Tata Memorial Hospital.

Regarding my family, something is working out in Sweden and probably all of us will move there permanently in 1-2 months. We have some relatives living there.

I think we should go to USCIS/DOS office. But problem is we have to do this on weekdays and most of member won't be join on weekdays because of work.
If we do on weekend then we will get more response but then offices will be closed unless they working on weekend as they did last weekend.
Are you serious? If people are so much interested in getting a GC and would like to make an impact, a day's work should not be a big deal. Forget the weekend stuff as DC streets have no federal government business on weekends. There are some guys who are willing to drive from NY/NJ/NC.
Even if we take the poll and lets say 500 people would like to come, that number will become 250 or less as most of us will have last minute issues as usual :p

The rule should be if I140 for porting is denied then the applicant should loose his/her initial EB3 priority date also as he /she has indicated that he/she is no longer working in the position as described in EB3 labor. Not sure about the GreenCard Application because the link is not working. However, USCIS has shown significant improvement in handling H1B application for this year. They conducted lottory for 163K application in just one week and also honoring the premium processing timeframe.

Had this been a call to build some temple or religious place I bet we would had been collected 5 - 10 times more than what we are at now.
I took the example here from a temple collection in my area, which when planned to upgrade it's kitchen, collected more than 175K in 15 days.

Today I spoke to a Representative who deals with immigration issue at Sen Mike Dewine's (R-OH) office. I spoke to him for 15 minutes to understand what he and his senator think about this CIR.
Here is he and his senator feels about this bill. It is difficult for him to say that when CIR bill will be introduced in senate floor . It depend on Majority and Minority leaders to decide. Majority leader told to the media that he will introduce before the end of the may, he is mostly consistent, but there are several bills where he has committed a timeline and till today it is not on the floor.
However he told that once CIR pass, legal immigration is already taken care of, but if it does not passes there are bills like SKIL which will be put before the floor. But CIR has to fail or pass before you see this SKILL bill on the floor.

Because Future GC job could be same job on H-1B, only difference being on H-1B your job has fixed end date (noted by I-94), and GC job has no fixed end date, hence permanent. It does not make that current job on H-1B permanent.
Temp Job and Permannet Job can have same job title and job duties. Just like contract job and full-time job can have same job title and job duties, but one is employee of the company and other one is not.

When you say that you will not need your clients you are wrong. when I was searching for projects I got a chance to apply to a job opening in one of my previous client, guess what, the start to my second stint was smooth just because I had a good rapport with my client and they liked my work. I even got one of my team mates in my client place to give me a referral for my higher studies.
"Your ex boss is not a bad guy, he knows you are leaving for better opportunity".He is not only a bad guy, he is evil IF (note the big IF) he is keeping the money which is not his. Their conscience should prick when they feed and give excellent education to their kids with the ill gotten money.
Unfortunately one might need his ex-employer in future (might not always be the case) and that is the irony of it all.

Appointment letter is good enough for green card purposes and as far as reference letter, I always got them from client.
There are 2 issues.
1. Getting back the salary
2. Non compete agreement.
Getting back salary is not a big deal. These type of cases never goes to the court and most o the employers will settle out of court.
regarding Non Compete, I feel you have served enough and there is no valid case.

Don't clear any client interview and force them to pay you salary as it is employers job to give you work. Take rest at home on full salary. A time will come when employer will no longer afford to loose any more money and they will terminate you. Also ask for severance package when they terminate you.

On July 15th I have filed for renewal of EAD for both of us, today I got approval email where as my wife status says received and pending and NO LUD either. Infact she needs EAD as she is been working on EAD and it expires in October. I am on H1. Why like that? My PD will be current from September as per September bulletin.
